Booking Policies & FAQ

Q) What is required to reserve a charter experience date on The Amanecer?

A) The Amanecer requires a 50% deposit to hold a reservation, which can be paid via wire transfer or credit card. In the case of credit card payment, a signed credit card authorization form is required. In addition to deposit, a charter agreement specifying details of agreed upon charter arrangements signed by the responsible party are also necessary to confirm reservation.

Q) When is full payment of charter experience due?

A) Full payment is due no less than 14-days in advance of charter date to solidify charter arrangements. If full payment is not received within 14-days, Amanecer reserves the right to release charter date. Amendments to this policy may apply during “festive season” (3-week period surrounding Christmas and New Year’s). Please contact Amanecer staff directly for more information.

Q) What if i need to cancel my charter experience?

If cancellation is confirmed by Amanecer staff more than 7-days prior to charter date, deposits are fully refundable, less a 3% credit card processing fee (when applicable).  If cancellation is made less than 7-days prior to charter date, deposit is forfeited.   Amendments to this policy may apply during “festive season” (3-week period surrounding Christmas and New Year’s). Q) What happens in the event of rain or inclement weather on the day of my charter experience?

A) Rain or weather related concerns are handled on a case by case basis. Our top priority is that you have an amazing experience, while staying safe and sound, and we handle all weather-related concerns with this in mind. Generally, if bad weather seems probable, we can often (but not always) predict this 24 – 72 hours in advance of charter experience and work with client to find an alternative date.  If an alternative date cannot be arranged and client and Amanecer staff agree that charter experience will be hampered significantly by expected inclement weather conditions 72 hours or more prior to charter date, a full refund will be issued, less a 3% credit card processing fee when applicable.  If an alternative date cannot be arranged, and client and Amanecer staff agree that charter experience will be hampered significantly by expected inclement weather conditions less than 72 hours prior to charter date, a refund will be issued, less any hard costs already incurred by Amanecer (including, but not exclusively, preliminary catering costs, specialty liquor or wine requests, plus a 3% credit card processing fee of total charter cost for issue of credit).   

Q) Are yacht charter experiences appropriate for children?

A) Absolutely! The Amanecer has successfully hosted many young passengers ranging from infancy to teenage years. The majority of our clients charter with their children, and we understand the importance of keeping the entire family safe, comfortable, and entertained. The yacht is fully stabilized (both while underway and at anchorage), minimizing side to side roll and generally providing a gentle ride for small passengers.  The Amanecer crew can provide both safety equipment and water sport gear for young guests and our chef offers a number of children’s menu selections.  Should your children require a break from the outdoors, The Amanecer features a fully enclosed salon and separate media room equipped with a “kaleidescape” movie server.  While boating of any kind does pose some obvious risks to young passengers (particularly toddlers who move quickly and without caution) and parents are ultimately responsible for the safety and behavior of their children, our staff is trained to be attuned to the needs of our youngest guests.

Q) What should I bring on the charter experience?

A) The Amanecer is fully equipped with professional snorkel gear, beach towels, sunscreen, life jackets, and motion sickness remedies.  Barring a special need, our sumptuous food and beverage packages make it unnecessary to bring additional food or drink on board.  Depending on the nature of your charter experience, we recommend bringing or wearing swimwear, cover up or lightweight clothing, sunhat, sunglasses, and a light jacket or sweatshirt, particularly if your charter will occur during or after sunset. Please note, guests will be asked to remove footwear prior to boarding yacht (footwear will remain in basket on board at all times). Also, remember to bring your camera to capture your memorable experience on the water.
